This journal entry is a bit late but an important one. I wanted to start off by sending a big THANK YOU, to all the people that donated money for the fundraiser event I participated in. The race for a cause!
For those of you that don’t know what I am talking about, it was a contest to see who can raise the most money in a month. I competed against 60 other athletes and the event was a month long. My cause that I raised money for was my best friend, Elizabeth’s, non-profit organization called Clifford’s Gift. Her organization raises money for the homeless. Elizabeth and I raised over $15,000 just from donations from wonderful people like you. We then got an extra $10,000 for getting the most donors and won a couple other competitions along the way. So I think our total was over $26,000!
We raised $26,000 in one month. Our goal was $13,000 so it is nice to have reached our goal and then got some more. It was fun but a lot of work reaching out to people to see if they would help. I know it is a tough time out there so I really appreciate everyone that gave whatever they could. It definitely made a difference for us to win, but more so it will help many people that are homeless and that is the real victory!
So from the bottom of my heart thanks for giving and helping me win the race. The money you gave will make a difference in other people’s lives. We all have a responsibility to give and help others in any way that we can. I do believe we can impact each other on any given day and it is really important to believe that.
I have been playing soccer for so long and every day I am trying to make an impact on the field and in the end I realized I’m making a bigger one off.
Always remember you are somehow having an impact on someone’s life; let’s make sure it is a positive one!
