39th birthday!

July 25, 2010

Chicago, Illinois

Hi everyone,

Yes I know it has been way to long since i have last been in touch.  I don't even want to share how long it has been becase I have been bad on my part.  So let's just move on to what is happening now!

My daughter celebrated her 2nd birthday day on thursday and I celebrated my 39th.  the fact that I am even writing 39 on this journal is amazing.  Where does time go.  I have to say it is a bit weird being so close to 40 but for the most part I don't feel like I am 39.   You are as old/young as you feel.  It is more fun seeing Sidney enjoying her birthday and opening up her presents then thinking about how old I am.  We celebrated our birthdays at our favorite pizza restaurant in Boston, T'anthony's.  Carmello, Marco and Joe thanks for a great night for Sid!  Sidney got some great presents for everyone and  I' m just happy to be playing soccer and helping make a difference with the Boston Breakers and now the opportunity again with the U.S. Women's National Team.

I am currently in chicago getting ready to play the Red Stars.  The Breakers have a had a good month so far and we have won 3 and lost 1 so we are moving in the right direction and today's game can help us continue to move forward with a win.

I recently got back from a trip with the National Team.  We played 2 games vs Sweden.  One game in Omaha and one game in my home state of Connecticut.  We tied the first game and won the 2nd game 3-0.  I played only about 6 minutes of the first game but then got to play 45 in the second.  It has been fun to be back in with the team and hopefully will continue to be part of the lineups leading up to World Cup Qualifiers in October.  Right now the focus is on the Breakers and finishing this season out making the playoffs.

The top 4 teams make the playoffs and that is our goal.  The team has been playing well and doing a good job working together both on and off the field.  Now if we can just finish July off with 2 more wins that would be great.  We finish the month of July off with a home game vs the Washington freedom on the 31st.

If you haven't had the opportunity to check us out at home, get on it, because we don' t  have that many home games left.  Our fans at home so far this season have been the best even with our rough start of the year.  It is amazing how much of a difference it makes to feel the support of the fans when we step out on that field.  So if you want to help make a difference come cheer us on at Harvard Stadium.

I hope everyone is having a great summer.  The summer seems to be flying by but hopefully you can enjoy the last month or so.

Take care and Always Believe,

Kristine Lillly
