Summer is over!
Summer is over!

September 14, 2009
Boston, Ma

Hello everyone,
It is my favorite time of the year, fall!  I love this time of year, football season, soccer season, cool mornings and cool evenings, holidays are coming up and it is my offseason.  I have taken a little time off to let my body get some rest and my mind and I will be back at it.  I started my time off with a great week of vacation on the Cape, with my family and my brother’s family.  It was a lot of fun and some good old fashion down time.  It was a great way to end the summer!

I have to admit this is my first offseason in about 20 years minus my pregnancy.  It isn’t by choice however, normally I would be training for National Team trips but I haven’t been invited in.  I have gotten some emails from people asking me if I have retired from the National Team and the answer is no.

I haven’t been called up to any camps, games, or trips.  It is out of my hands the coach makes the choices on who she wants to bring in and I haven’t been one of those people yet.  Yes, I would love to be called up, to play for your country is an honor and I love putting on that U.S. jersey.   All I can do is train, play the best I can and if it is what she likes then hopefully I will be called up.  It is a different position for me and it is frustrating but there isn’t much I can do besides play the game the best that I can and work my butt off.

Hopefully you will see me wear the U.S. jersey again and cheer on #13.

On another note the NEW YORK JETS are 1-0.  I’ll take that start and they looked pretty good for the first time out with a young quarterback, so it makes me excited for this season.  This could be the YEAR!

I’m getting some clinics organized for the fall, so anyone interested in me coming to their area for a clinic email me at kristinelilly@headrushcreative.com and book me!  I’m headed up to New Hampshire for 3 clinics the next 3 Fridays so I’m looking forward to that.

In October I’m heading out to Chapel Hill, N.C. to be a part of the Mia Hamm Golf Fundraiser Tourney.  It is a good time and all the proceeds go to the Mia Hamm Foundation.  After that I am having a little UNC reunion at the University of Tennessee.  Yes I know a bit confusing but my good friend Angela Kelly is the head soccer coach there so I am going to support her team and catch up with some friends.

Before that all takes place UNC Women’s soccer team is coming to Boston College on Oct. 1st to take on the Eagles.  So I will see how the Tar heels are doing on the soccer field.

Besides that I am spending some quality time with my daughter and husband.  Little Sid is cruising around, making me laugh and learning new things every day.  She loves to dance when you put music on and to push things all around the house.  She is great and she is almost 14 months.  Where does time go!

I hope everyone’s first day of school was good. Kids are out of the house during the day  and now you have some down time and then practices of some sort must kick in.  Carpooling must be a big thing or you are one of the moms/dads that did the driving.    I know when I was younger I was going here and there and my mom was great. She drove me around everywhere and both my parents came to watch whenever  they could.  So don’t think your kids don’t appreciate you, they do they may just take some time to tell you!

Mom and dad thanks for all your support when I was younger!

I’ll be back in touch sooner than later!

Always Believe,
Kristine Lilly
