Win against Norway and Kristine Lilly Day in Ct.

Brookline, ma

Hi everyone,
The U.S. team is still on a roll and doing well.  We played Norway yesterday in Hartford Ct. and it was a great day.  Not only did we play Norway and win but it was also Kristine Lilly day in the state of Connecticut.  The governor declared it Kristine Lilly day with a proclamation.  U.S. soccer honored me before the game with a video recognizing my accomplishments through out my career.  U.S.soccer also donated $5,327 to Special Olympics Ct. an organization that i have been working with for the past 3 years.  We have a fundraiser called the Lilly Awards that will take place this year on November 8th.  All the money from the dinner goes to Special Olympics Ct, plus we honor 5 women from the state of ct. in different fields.  So it was so nice of u.S. soccer to help an organization that i have built a great relationship with.

As for the game, it was a tough one but a good one for us to experience at this point in our training.  We won 1-0, but it was a close one.  We didn't play our best soccer and didn't finish our chances but our defense did a great job especially our back 4.  It was a game that we will see a lot of when the World Cup comes, so it was a great game for our team.

The fans were great, we had over 9,000 people at the game and i had a lot of signs from my fans which was great. We now have about 5 days off and then head back to L.A. for some training and then a trip up to San Jose to play on the 28th.

Our road to China is coming to an end so continue to check us out live or on t.v.

Always Believe,
Kristine Lilly
